ZITF kicks off today

Zimbabwe’s primier trade and investment exhibition, the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), kicks off Tuesday with more than 400 exhibitors participating in the annual tradeshow case.

 

The trade showcase will be held under the theme “Rethink, Reimagine, Reinvent :Value Chains for Economic Development.

 

“We are geared to kick start the show.It will feature a packed programme of forums and cenferences focused on  rehabilitating our policymaking, business and industry, systems for transformative and broad-based economicdevelopment in Zimbabwe, Africa and the world at large, ” the ZITF board chairperson Busisa Moyo told journalists in Bulawayo Monday.

 

 

Moyo said.

 

He said there has been an upsurge in the uptake of exhibition space, resulting in the setting up of supplementary exhibition space.

 

” The bulk of our exhibitors have arrived at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre and are currently giving their stands and pavilions final decorative touches. This year’s show has seen us experience an upsurge in the uptake of exhibition space, resulting in the setting up of supplementary exhibition space in one of the parking areas, “he said.

 

Moyo said there were plans to expand in a bid to accommodate exhibitors.

 

“In the short term, we will be managing the demand for exhibition space through temporary structures. However, in the long term, expansion plans are afoot to enable us to accommodate everyone who wants to showcase in Zimbabwe’s premier shop window.

 

” As at this morning (Monday)  428 direct exhibitors had confirmed participation in the show having taken up 44,760 square metres of exhibition space. This compares favourably with the closing totals

of both the 2021 and 2019 shows.

Foreign participation is also up with 14 countries being represented by a total of 21 exhibitors, “said Moyo.

 

 

He added :”The countries are Angola, Belarus, Botswana, Britain, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya,

Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa and Zambia.

In addition to the exhibits, we have recorded the registration of business delegates from Angola, South Africa, Malawi, Kenya and Belarus.”

 

He said stakeholders will be required to provide a Covid-19 free certificate on the opening day.

 

” All stakeholders will be required to produce Covid-19 free certificate (PCR or Antigen) taken no later than 48 hours before the show begins tomorrow (Tuesday).

 

“Additionally, all invited guests will be required to present a Covid 19 free certificate taken no later than 48 hrs before the official opening ceremony on Friday, “he said.
