The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) board has reversed its decision to appoint Moris Mpofu as the country’s tax collector’s acting commissioner general.
Mpofu had been due to succeed Rameck Masaire, who was set leave at the end of this month. Masaire tendered his early retirement notice on December 30, 2021.
However, ZIMRA board vice chairperson, Josephine Matambo said Masaire will continue to serve as acting commissioner general.
“ZIMRA board wishes to inform stakeholders that the assumption of duty of Dr Moris Mpofu as acting commissioner general of the authority has been suspended. Accordingly, Rameck Masaire will continue to serve as acting commissioner general of the authority,” Matambo said.
