At least 11 local horticultural companies will participate at this year’s edition of Fruit Logistica set for next month in Berlin, Germany amid growing interest by firms in the world’s leading trade show for fresh produce business.
The firms—W & D Consultants, Bio Innovation Zimbabwe, Associated Foods Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd, Welthungerhilfe, Procitru, Ansellia (Pvt) Ltd,Fair-mark, Probest, Broomrigg Farm, Greenstone Foods and HDC—will be part of the leading international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable industry, which will run from April 5 to 7.
The participating companies will have an opportunity to secure export markets across the globe for their produce, according to ZimTrade’s export promotion officer, Alex Mutandi.
“In 2020 we took three companies for an exhibition and five companies as a learning visit. Now, there is a sudden increase in the number of exhibitors from Zimbabwe because the Fruit Logistica has the world’s largest market in horticulture produce,” Mutandi said.
Fruit Logistica represents the entire value added chain for the fresh produce industry from producer to point of sale. More than 3,300 exhibitors from 91 countries presented their products, services and technical solutions at Fruit Logistica 2020.
About 73,000 vendors and trade visitors from 135 countries took part in the event.
