ZiFM Stereo scores big, grab major accolades

ZiFM Stereo, the country’s leading commercial radio station has proven its mettle on the showbiz scene by scooping several awards on different events in the last month’s programmes.

Last week, “The Hottest Radio Station” saw its The Fixx programme presenters and Hip Hop show hosts Paul Dendere (PD) and Kuda Dzenga (Lady K) winning Best Hip Hop DJ at the Zim Hip Hop awards while Ikonik Krimz won best Event DJ at the same event.

The two talented presenters beat five other contestants for the accolade while Ikonik Krimz also dismissed five competitors to walk away with the gong.

In yet another victory for the station, The Trio who hosts the much followed programme that focuses on life in tertiary institutions, Campus Parade grabbed the Ignite Youth Awards Journalism and Media Awards People’s Choice Award.

The trio, Munashe Jerera, Joseph Nyazuwa and Rumbidzai Mugwira expressed gratitude and appreciation to the ZiFM family for the support and love they showed them throughout the journey. Campus parade is on every Tuesday at 1915HRS on ZiFM Stereo Station.

On the News and Current Affairs front, ZiFM Stereo and Business Times Mashonaland West correspondent Tichaona Katsvamutima won the Chinhoyi University first runner up award in the Media and Information category for his work in the community. This came after he also bagged the Kariba Agriculture Reporter of the Year Awards.

 

ZiFM Stereo programming manager Mona Lisa Dube also recently won the NSSA Best Journalist in Safety and Health Reporting.

 

Speaking on the multiple awards won by the station recently, Dube said: “These awards are a reflection of how well- rounded we are and we can only be excited about what 2023 holds as we continue to assert our position as the hottest station in the nation.”
