Trevor Barnard appointed KMH CEO

Mining conglomerate, Kuvimba Mining House (KMH), has appointed Trevor Barnard as its substantive Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The appointment is effective December 1, 2024.
Barnard has been Acting CEO since May this year taking over from Simba Chinyemba who was appointed Chief Operations Officer (COO) for the Mutapa Investment Fund.
KMH board chairperson Justin Mupamhanga confirmed the appointment.
“Mr Barnard brings a wealth of experience in strategic leadership management. We are confident that his expertise and strong track record will propel the Group to new heights as we work to achieve our collective goals,” Mupamhanga said.
Barnard joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director on 23 October 2023.
He boasts of a demonstrated history of working in the cement and mining, and metals industry.
Barnard holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Pretoria and an Executive Development Certificate, focused on Business Administration and Management, from the Gordon Institute of Business Science.
KMH has resurrected and rehabilitated several mines who faced numerous challenges in the past before they took over.
Now under the Mutapa Investment Fund portfolio, KMH runs Sandawana Mines, Fredda Rebecca Mine, Bindura Nickel Mine, Shamva Gold Mine among other interests.
