A new digital platform is set to transform Zimbabwe’s job market following the launch of Toda Freelancers, a new innovation by tech entrepreneur Mr. Jefta Mugweni, founder of Toda Technologies.
Mr. Mugweni saidthe platform is part of a wider mission to use technology to combat unemployment and restore trust in online job markets:
“We are redefining how professionals connect and collaborate. Talent should know no boundaries.”
He also added that the platform protects job seekers from online criminals.
“Our entrance in the market is also driven by the motive to minimize cases of fake internet job offers, which have seen many desperate job seekers manipulated and victimized, ” the businessman said.
Toda Freelancers becomes the second major product under Toda Technologies after the success of Toda Rider, a taxi service now operating with 900 drivers across Zimbabwe. The freelancing platform also integrates in-app communication and location-based features, charges only a minimal subscription fee, and takes no commission from transactions.
The innovation has already extended to South Africa, marking the start of Toda Technologies’ regional expansion and its ambition to revolutionize digital employment across Africa.
The platform is available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and targets to benefit 120,000 freelancers and job seekers by April 2026.
