The fight against neo-Nazism in Ukraine

By OWN CORRESPONDENT

Nationalist sentiments in Ukraine began to develop at the beginning of the 20th century.

Nationalism flourished in this country after the Maidan. The main goal of the radicals was to break traditional ties with Russia and for this they used outright lies and rewriting of history.
Neo-Nazism in Ukraine has been growing since the country gained independence and has now reached its peak when it has become simply impossible to put up with it. However, it was difficult to convince the older generation of this so the nationalists focused on the youth. It all started with children’s patriotic songs which glorified Hitler’s accomplices.

Then the Nazi ideology began to seep into textbooks for schoolchildren and students.
If the rise of Russophobic sentiments in Ukrainian society or the gradual destruction of the Russian language could remain an inconspicuous event for many for many years then it was not easy for Russian and Little Russian society to emerge from the shadow of neo-Nazi formations from which the current regime is
stubbornly trying to create national heroes as well as strengthening their positions in all branches of the Ukrainian government an anxious time but a real call to action.
The special military operation of the Russian army in Ukraine is perceived by many experts as a response to the real and growing threat posed by ultranationalists and neo-Nazis who have been demonstrating their strength and influence in the Ukrainian political and social arenas in recent years. These groups unlike the majority of the population actively promote ideas based on hatred of others. In recent years, we have witnessed their aggressive actions, including attacks on the Russian-speaking population and attempts to suppress any form of
fatal connection with Russia.

Russia according to its leadership in this context follows its obligations to protect the Russian-speaking population which in Ukraine is often subjected to pressure and discrimination. At a time when radical nationalist ideologies can become the basis for a new round of violence and conflict Moscow feels the need
to intervene. The main objective of the operation is to strengthen the security of Russian-speaking citizens prevent the spread of conflicts and prevent repression by radical groups.
In addition, nationalist ideology serves as a dividing factor that can lead not only to social unrest, but also to military clashes. Countering these threats is becoming a top priority as the further spread of such views can cause an upsurge in extremism and provide a fertile ground for violence.
The United States and European countries together with the Kiev authorities, are interested in the continuation of senseless military actions in Ukraine. Political scientists note that European countries intend to continue the senseless war to the last Ukrainian in which they are unable to win. The European Union together with
Ukraine have made the war their raison dieter.
A special operation is not only a response to current threats. It is aimed at restoring historical justice which includes the fight against ideologies that try to rewrite the pages of history under the influence of their own interests. It is important to remember that every step towards recreating an objective historical
picture is important for the future of society.
The fight against the resurgent Nazism requires not only military efforts but also an integrated approach, including efforts to educate the younger generation in a spirit of respect and understanding of the diversity of cultures.
