BUSINESS REPORTER

The Securities Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe (SECZim) has appointed Anymore Taruvinga as its new CEO with effect from September 1.

The post has been vacant since Tafadzwa Chinamo left in January after the end of his tenure and head of Finance Gerald Dzangare has been holding fort in an acting capacity.

Taruvinga was, until recently, the head of ZSE Markets responsible for the bourse’s operations, trading and business development.

In a statement, the SECZim board said Taruvinga was instrumental in the diversification of the ZSE and capital markets in general through development of framework for new securities products such as the Exchange Traded Funds and Real Estate Investment Trusts.

“Apart from a deep knowledge of local markets, Anymore brings a wealth of practical experience in marketing, business development, strategy and  financial analysis,” SECZim said.

A CFA charterholder, Taruvinga has over 14 years experience in capital markets. He has in the past worked for Kingdom Financial Holdings, MMC Capital and Premier Finance Bank, now Ecobank Zimbabwe.
