Scottland FC dump title-winning coach Ndiraya

Just five days after lifting their maiden Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) title, newly crowned champions Scottland FC have parted ways with head coach Tonderai Ndiraya, sending shockwaves across Zimbabwean football.
Ndiraya, who joined the ambitious Mabvirawira side at the start of the season after leaving last year’s champions Simba Bhora, delivered an extraordinary debut campaign, guiding Scottland to a historic championship and securing a coveted ticket to the CAF Champions League.
But despite the success, the club confirmed yesterday that both parties had agreed to walk separate paths.
Announcing his departure, Scottland said:
“The club and head coach, Tonderai Ndiraya, have reached a mutual agreement not to renew his contract, which concludes at the end of this season.
“We would like to express our sincere appreciation for his commitment, professionalism, and service during his time with the club.
“His contribution and dedication to the team have been highly valued, and we extend our gratitude for the role he has played in the growth and development of our players.
“He led Scottland to a historic league title in his debut Premier Soccer League season, earning us a ticket to the CAF Champions League.”
The decision has raised eyebrows given Scottland’s meteoric rise under Ndiraya, who had been hoping to build on his successful maiden season with the newly promoted outfit.
Attention has already shifted to the next man set to take charge of Zimbabwe’s newest football powerhouse.
Rumours suggest former Warriors coach Michael Nees is among those being considered to replace Ndiraya, while seasoned tacticians Norman Mapeza and Kalisto Pasuwa are also being linked with the job.
Ndiraya, meanwhile, is reportedly attracting interest from league debutants Hard Rock FC, who are believed to be keen on securing his services as they prepare for their first PSL campaign.
