Industry and Commerce minister Sekai Nzenza says the real estate sector is an enabler in economic activity and plays an anchor role under Zimbabwe‘s economic blueprint, the National Development Strategy 1.

Officiating at the 4th ZimReal Property Investment Forum held in Harare yesterday, Nzenza said dialogues of the Zimreal nature foster  further engagement between government and the private sector.

“I want to urge all players to come together to develop a strategic roadmap to stimulate economic growth through property investment and development. On my end this can be done through a whole Government approach,” Nzenza said.

She commended the event for bringing together both local and international players in the property market.

“I am pleased to note that ZimReal 2022 has attracted delegates from eight countries. The international integration focus is most certainly aligned to His Excellency’s Zimbabwe is open for business mantra implemented through a targeted re-engagement strategy,” Nzenza said.

Yesterday’s event was attended by government officials, property developers, real estate agents, legal practitioners, financiers and retail and hospitality experts.

The investment forum focused on consolidating post-pandemic recovery opportunities in the various sub-sectors of retail, residential and hospitality and other sectors despite limited infrastructure development, lack of liquidity, material shortages and currency fluctuations.
