President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Friday said Zimbabwe’s engagement and  re-engagment drive  is bearing fruit as evidenced by increased number of international countries exhibiting at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).

He said this while addressing journalists after touring stands at the ZITF.

“…The Americans are here, the British are here so is  the European Union (EU). So the reengagment is very fruitful,” “he said.

He added: “The exhibits are better than last year, the quality is better and  the displays are fantastic. All the exhibitions we have seen are just majestic.

Twenty-one countries are  participating at the ZITF with 533 exhibitors.

The 2023 ZITF was officially opened by King Mswati III of Eswatini.

King Mswati, who was on a State visit since Tuesday, praised Zimbabwe’s developmental agenda.

“The last time I was here in Bulawayo was  in 1995 . A lot has changed in terms of development. I am impressed. Even the exhibitors who are here, the number is  more than the last time I was here,” he said.

King Mswati said the ZITF is a prime opportunity for businesses to thrive and facilitate a good platform for the success of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
