Professor Mutambara to headline CEO Africa Annual Roundtable

The CEO Africa Roundtable has secured renowned academic, strategist and former Deputy Prime Minister of Zimbabwe, Professor Arthur Mutambara, for a headline fireside chat at its 11th Annual Roundtable to be held from 14-18 October 2025 at the Elephant Hills Resort in Victoria Falls.
Professor Mutambara, celebrated globally for his thought leadership on the intersection of global politics, economics, and Africa’s development, will unpack one of the most urgent issues facing the continent: “Geopolitics and the Economic Impact in Africa: The Shift from Geopolitics to Geoeconomics.”
The global policy space has been evolving over time with the transition from geopolitics to geoeconomics, as highlighted by the recent ‘Trump Tariffs’ which are significantly contributing to a new policy space and a new global order.
Professor Mutambara will use the space to explore how global political dynamics are reshaping Africa’s economic future, and why African leaders and businesses must transition from a reactive posture to one that strategically leverages on the new global order for sustainable growth.
His inclusion in the 2025 CEO Africa Annual Roundtable lineup underscores the event’s commitment to bringing together world-class thinkers and leaders to unpack the most pressing issues shaping Africa’s trajectory. Delegates can expect an engaging, forward-looking session that connects Africa’s place in the shifting global order with the continent’s drive for economic transformation.
Prof. Mutambara, who holds a PhD in Robotics and Mechatronics from the University of Oxford and has held academic and research positions at institutions including MIT, Caltech, and the University of Johannesburg will also participate in a panel discussion on AI at the Roundtable as we explore the opportunities and challenges that are presented by the ongoing AI revolution. Beyond academia, he is a seasoned leader with experience in governance, having served as one of Zimbabwe’s Deputy Prime Ministers during the Government of National Unit.
He has authored influential works on innovation, leadership, and African development, and remains a sought-after voice on global affairs.
The CEO Africa Annual Roundtable, is running under the theme “Future Ready Africa: Connecting Ideas, Creating Value”, and will convene influential leaders from across the continent and beyond for four days of dialogue, networking, and deal-making aimed at unlocking Africa’s vast potential.
