Prominent property mogul and Pinnacle Holdings chairman, Dr. Phillip Chiyangwa, has reaffirmed the legitimacy of the Nyore Nyore Housing Scheme, positioning himself as a credible business operator dedicated to addressing Zimbabwe’s housing crisis.
Speaking on ZiFM Stereo with Themba Mkanda, Dr. Chiyangwa dismissed allegations of impropriety, stressing that Nyore Nyore is a fully compliant, legally structured initiative designed to provide affordable homeownership solutions.
“We operate from a well-known address, and I encourage you to consult your legal teams. We have banking partnerships to verify the legitimacy of our operations. Our goal is not to take money from people but to ensure affordability for all,” he stated.
Zimbabwe’s housing sector has long struggled with a severe backlog, exacerbated by land barons preying on desperate home seekers.
The Nyore Nyore Housing Scheme, Dr. Chiyangwa emphasised, is a solution aimed at providing structured, secure, and lawful property ownership.
“We have lawyers available to answer any questions. I have personally lost properties due to past irregularities in the sector, and I am committed to ensuring that does not happen again,” he added.
Dr. Chiyangwa underscored the scheme’s legitimacy by highlighting government involvement in purchasing stands, reinforcing its credibility.
“The government’s participation is a testament to the integrity of this project,” he noted.
He further emphasised that the initiative is not exclusive to high-income earners but is designed to accommodate low-income groups, including informal traders.
“The Nyore Nyore Housing Scheme is for everyone, from street vendors to small-scale traders—because that’s where I came from. I respect vendors and believe everyone deserves proper housing,” he said.
To make homeownership more accessible, the scheme offers flexible payment plans that allow buyers to secure their properties with small initial deposits and gradual payments.
“Simply deposit your money with one of our partner banks—Steward Bank, NMB, or CBZ Bank—and you will receive your title deeds,” Dr. Chiyangwa assured.
The business mogul remains steadfast in his commitment to providing sustainable housing solutions while defending his legacy.
“I am not a thief; I have never stolen from anyone. Throughout my career, I have respected the rule of law and have never faced criminal charges,” he asserted.
With Zimbabwe’s housing demand on the rise, the Nyore Nyore Housing Scheme positions itself as a viable alternative for aspiring homeowners seeking security and affordability in a volatile market.
