My life is in danger: Embattled Mai Titi
…claims people with political power after her

Comedienne Felistas Murata, popularly known as Mai Titi, (pictured) has sensationally claimed that her life is in danger and has hired personal bodyguards as her enemies mount up a plot to eliminate her.
Mai Titi, prone to scandals and controversy, boasts of a massive social media following that has seen her hosting live episodes on different subjects that are mainly emotionally charged.
The socialite was last year released from prison after her 18-month conviction and sentence was quashed when she had only served four-and-half months.
After appearing in court this week with two bodyguards, there was speculation that the comedienne was up to her usual drama but in an interview yesterday, she said her life was in danger and has since hired people to protect her.
She said she had also installed security cameras at her place of residence.
“People are following me. They are threatening me online,” she said.
“There are people who have gone online wanting me dead, with some saying we want to kill you. One of them is… (name withheld). That’s why I had to report her to the police because she is after me left, right, and centre.”
“As a matter of fact, I don’t have only security guards on me, but I do have 20 cameras in and outside my house and my workplace because at the moment my life matters. I am doing anything possible to protect my life against people who want to kill me or who want me dead.”
“There are also people who are after me, who are against me, who have political power and are more powerful than me, so I am powerless. I need to protect myself.”
Pressed to comment on allegations that those she claims were after her life were people she owes huge sums of money and want to recover it, she said: “I am not owing anybody at the moment. I haven’t finalised some payments of mukando (stokvel). The people I am owing money can’t harm me because they don’t go online framing me. I have other people who are after my life who are hunting me day in and day out.”
“The people whom I do not owe any money are after me now so I would rather pay the amount to any security because those people want to take my life. They are after me.”
