The Mining, Engineering and Transport (Mine Entra), the country’s premier mining expo, which was originally scheduled for this month in Bulawayo, has been postponed in order to prevent any possible conflict with the impending SADC  meeting, which will take place in  the capital Harare.

Mine Entra is hosted and organized by the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in collaboration with with the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development and the Chamber of Mines.

Busisa Moyo, ZITF board chairman, confirmed the postponement saying the new dates  of the Mine Entra event, which was originally planned  to take place from 17 – 19 July 2024 in Bulawayo, will be announced in due course. The SADC meeting is slated to take place from July 28 to August 2,  2024.

“The decision to reschedule Mine Entra was made to avoid any potential conflicts with the
upcoming SADC Industrialisation Week, a major regional event which is being hosted in Zimbabwe scheduled for July 28 – August 2 in Harare.

“The SADC Industrialisation Week is expected to attract significant attention from industry leaders, government officials, and
investors throughout the region,” Moyo said.

Postponing the Mine Entra, according to Moyo, will ensure that both events  get the  focused participation they deserve, maximizing the opportunities for attendees and exhibitors.

“The ZITF Company recognizes the importance of both Mine Entra and the SADC Industrialisation Week. Holding Mine Entra during the same timeframe could potentially
result in divided attendance and detract from the impact of each event.

“This approach will allow
participants to fully engage with each event without scheduling conflicts,” he said.

The Mine Entra 2024 theme is “Unearthing Success: The Mining Value Chains, Innovation & Industrialisation Nexus.”
