Midlands Agric Show kicks off
ELIAS MAGINYA IN GWERU
The Midlands Show Society roars into life today at the show grounds in Gweru.
The show, which runs under the theme ‘Embracing climate change and social-corporate responsibility’, will end on Sunday.
About 97 exhibitors have so far registered for the show.
Last year, the show was cancelled due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.
Exhibitors and visitors at this year’s event are expected to be fully vaccinated.
“We are good to go, we shall be observing all Covid-19 protocols.
The 28th of October is saved for traders, they will meet fellow traders and possible clients. The Big day is Saturday, the 31st where the event will be officially opened. Best exhibitors will be honoured at the same event which shall start at 1400 hrs,” the Midlands Show Society chairperson, Augustine Mupakurirwa said.
He added: “Our weather conditions are unpredictable these days. We call on our people to adapt to the new patterns. We encourage the corporate world to plough back into society. Basically that is all about the theme.”
