Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi will embark on a State visit to Zimbabwe on September 1 and will officiate at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show on Friday, his government said on Tuesday.
In a statement, the Botswana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Masisi’s State visit reciprocates President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s visit to Botswana in 2018. The State visit runs from September 1 to 3.
“During the Visit, the two Presidents will deliberate on issues of mutual interests and explore ways and means of further deepening the relations between the two countries. Botswana and Zimbabwe signed an agreement establishing the Bi-National Commission in 2018, to promote and explore cooperation in a number of areas such as education, agriculture, defence and security, energy, environment and health,” the Ministry said.
“While in Zimbabwe, His Excellency the President will officiate at the annual Zimbabwe Agricultural Show which will be held on the 2nd September 2022.”
On his Zimbabwe visit, Masisi will be accompanied by First Lady Neo Jane Masisi, Foreign Affairs minister Lemogang Kwape, Agriculture minister Fidelis Molao and senior government officials.
