Let’s do what we should be doing : Kagame

Rwanda President Paul Kagame has said conversations at the Commonwealth Meeting should be coupled with tangible action in order to achieve results.
Speaking during a panel session at the ongoing Commonwealth Business Forum, President Kagame spoke on the need of including young people in key decisions.
“ We all feel very optimist and the grounds on which we base the optimism is all of us as we are here on the panel and the audience we seem to very well understand what we need to do.We must do it,” Kagame said.
He added: “And the young people are talking about and we have talked about so many times and we know they are millions and millions of them out there we also need to thinking about what we also need to be thinking about doing more with them than for them”
The African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adensina said that countries should create youth based wealth for stable economies.
“We have to prioritize young people in all of our financing. We have to create youth based wealth,” he said.
“What they (young people) actually need is access to skills, to education to finance it is very very critical that we do that”
“I don’t believe that the future of African young people lies in Europe I do not believe in Latin America or Asia or any where else. It lies in Africa growing well and able to create quality, decent and competitive jobs” said Adensina
Fifty four member states have convened in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital for the The Commonwealth Head of Governments Meeting running under the theme “ Delivering a Common Future: Connecting, Innovating, Transforming.
