Ntongasi Lucia Madzikatire, wife of the late comedian cum musician Safirio Mukadota Madzikatire, has died.
Madzikatire, who is also mother to another actor, Elijah, was 90.
Elijah said they have lost a pillar who supported several actors in the country.
“She was not into acting but she supported those who worked with my father as well as the industry at large. Because of her support I was able to start my acting career” he said.
Populary known as Bhero, Elijah said they will soon announce burial arrangements.
Her husband, Mukadota, was a popular comedian and musician who released all time hits like “Dickson,” “Pahanyani” and “Ndichaitenga Neshungu,” among other songs.
He was the main actor in the popular Mukadota series that was televised by ZTV.
Mukadota also known as Ba Rwizi died in 1996.
Mourners are gathered at 1-60th Avenue Haig Park, Mabelreign, Harare.
