Integrated Properties (Pvt) Ltd has clinched a top honour at the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Quality Awards, marking a major milestone for Zimbabwe’s real estate sector and reinforcing the firm’s rising regional stature.

The award, secured yesterday in Johannesburg, South Africa, comes barely weeks after the company attained triple ISO certification from the Standards Association of Zimbabwe (SAZ), underlining its commitment to global best practice standards.

The recognition thrusts Zimbabwe into the regional spotlight, demonstrating that local firms can compete at the highest levels in quality management, environmental sustainability, and occupational health and safety.

SAZ Director General Cosmos Mukoyi hailed the achievement, saying it reflects the growing competitiveness of Zimbabwean companies on the international stage.

“We would like to congratulate our local companies for being among the winners at the SADC Quality Awards Competition. It shows that our companies are competing at the highest level and have what it takes to perform anywhere on the global stage,” Mukoyi said.

At the awards, Integrated Properties was named second runner-up in the Company of the Year category for Small to Medium Enterprises, capping a strong showing by Zimbabwean firms.

Other local winners included Dinson Iron and Steel Company, which was second runner-up in the Exporter of the Year category, Tobacco Processors, recognised as second runner-up in the Service of the Year category, and Irvine’s Zimbabwe, which walked away with the Company of the Year accolade.

Integrated Properties chief executive officer Dr Mike Juru said the latest recognition affirms the company’s strategic focus on quality and operational excellence.

“We are excited by this award, which comes barely a few weeks after securing triple ISO certification from SAZ. This made us the first real estate company in Zimbabwe to attain the globally recognised ‘triple crown’ of international standards,” Juru said.

“We are encouraged by this recognition from SADC, which gives us the confidence to expand regionally and showcase our capabilities. With this achievement, we are confident that we can deliver work anywhere in the world.”

The certifications include ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management, and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety — a trio widely regarded as the benchmark for operational excellence.

Analysts say such credentials are increasingly becoming critical in enhancing corporate competitiveness, improving operational efficiency, and building stakeholder confidence.

For Integrated Properties, the achievement is more than symbolic. It positions the company as a trailblazer in Zimbabwe’s real estate sector, becoming the first in the industry to secure all three globally recognised standards.

The adoption of these rigorous frameworks is no longer just a compliance requirement, but a strategic lever for long-term sustainability and regional expansion.

With the latest SADC recognition, Integrated Properties has not only cemented its local dominance but also signalled its readiness to compete across borders, at a time when Zimbabwean firms are under growing pressure to align with global benchmarks.
