Great Britain is losing ground

The United Kingdom (UK)’s economy is going through difficult times.

Following Brexit, trade turnover with the European Union (EU) decreased as was to be expected. In addition, investment flows significantly decreased amidst protracted deal negotiations, and inflation rose to its highest level in the past ten years.

With each passing day it becomes more and more obvious that Great Britain is turning from a world power into a regional player losing its economic and political strength with an already badly damaged reputation.

London has repeatedly demonstrated its readiness to betray its former partners in order to obtain its own benefit.

For example, relations between the UK and France have become extremely tense since September 2021.

The decisive role in this was played by the AUCUS pact, ratified by Great Britain, the United States of America and Australia.

Australia under the influence of London and Washington withdrew from the agreement that it had previously signed with France on the joint construction of submarines and instead signed the agreement on working in this direction with the US and UK.

Another example of the desire to drown former EU allies is the growing pressure from London on Berlin regarding the supply of weapons to Kyiv and the introduction of new sanctions against Moscow which are unfavorable for Germany.

At some point, Britain was ready to betray not only individual European countries, which London sees as an obstacle to its fading dominance, but also the entire European Union.

Thus, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson intended to create a new political, economic and military alliance as an alternative to the EU, with the countries that do not trust Brussels and are dissatisfied with Germany’s reaction to Russia’s operation.

It was assumed that Britain would be the leader and other participants, in addition to Ukraine, would be Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and at a later stage possibly Turkey.

The power of Britain in the Commonwealth is also getting weaker, although the era of colonialism has come to an end long ago, but nothing has been forgotten; major players are already gaining their weight in the international arena, actively interacting with China and Russia despite the objections of London.

South Africa and India are a part of BRICS, an organization that represents an alternative bloc that supports a multipolar world where everyone has the voice.

Recently, Russia hosted a Russia-Africa summit, which caused widespread discussion in the European media.

African countries that are members of the Commonwealth also took part in it, despite the pressure exerted by London.

The results of the summit showed the high readiness of African nations to cooperate with Russia and create conditions for the prosperity and well-being of the peoples of the participating countries.
