President Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged ZANU PF members to remain closely connected to the people and actively address their needs, emphasising that the party must be the first responder to the challenges faced by Zimbabweans.

Speaking at the 382nd Ordinary Session of the Politburo on Wednesday, Mnangagwa underscored the importance of grassroots engagement and accountability within the ruling party’s structures.

“ZANU PF must be the first responder to the challenges facing our people. I challenge all party members to walk alongside our people and always seek to respond to their needs. From the Cell level to the District, Province, Central Committee, and Politburo, our structures must provide honest leadership and guidance, with a renewed focus on matters that impact the livelihoods of our citizens,” Mnangagwa said.

He reaffirmed that the people’s aspirations remain central to the party’s mission, particularly in the ongoing economic transformation efforts.

“More importantly, in this economic revolution, the people’s needs and aspirations are at the core of our priorities,” he added.

Mnangagwa emphasized that as a revolutionary party, ZANU PF has a duty to deliver on its promises and work toward national development. He highlighted ongoing efforts to support innovative private enterprises and multi-sectoral empowerment programs, particularly those benefiting women and youth.

“Under my leadership, ZANU PF is prioritizing the dignity of hard, honest work, production, and productivity. We are accelerating support for innovative private enterprises and long-term empowerment pathways that benefit the youth and women,” Mnangagwa stated.

He urged party members to prioritize projects that enhance household incomes and improve the quality of life for ordinary Zimbabweans.

“Undertaking projects and initiatives that uplift household incomes and enhance our people’s quality of life must be the main focus of our party and the nation as a whole. We are building our country brick by brick, stone upon stone, and we must remain resolute,” he said.

Mnangagwa asserted that Zimbabwe’s history is a testament to ZANU PF’s resilience and its deep-rooted connection with the people.

“Our country’s history is littered with evidence that our party is people-driven, endowed with a warrior spirit, and unflinchingly resilient as a proud Zimbabwean and African people. We always achieve our vision and goals,” he declared.

Despite the economic challenges facing Zimbabwe, Mnangagwa reassured citizens that his administration remains committed to delivering solutions and driving national progress.

His remarks serve as both a call to action for ZANU PF members and a message of reassurance to Zimbabweans, reinforcing the party’s role in shaping the country’s future.
