ED appoints new Zanu PF Politburo

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed the new Zanu PF politburo following the party’s recent congress that saw him being elected unopposed for the top post.
Zanu PF went for an elective congress that unanimously endorsed the Zimbabwean leader as First Secretary and President of the ruling party.
Mnangagwa blended veterans and young Turks in his new-look politburo line-up.
New faces that made it into the body that formulates and decides policy for the party include Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube who becomes deputy to Patrick Chinamasa who retained his post as secretary for Finance.
Nyanga South Member of the House of Assembly Supa Mandiwanzira becomes the secretary for Local Government and Devolution. Mandiwanzira will be deputised by Monica Mavhunga who is the Minister of State for Mashonaland Central province.
Joshua Sacco deputises First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa who makes a return to the Politburo as secretary for Environment and Climate.
Deputy Youth Minister Tino Machakaire becomes the Youth League secretary while businessman and politician James Makamba was appointed deputy secretary for Transport where he deputises July Moyo.
General (Retired) Mike Nyambuya deputises secretary for Administration Obert Mpofu with Webster Shamu coming in as deputy secretary for the Commissariat where Mike Bimha is the secretary.
Mnangagwa retained his top brass of deputies Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi and national chairman Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri.
