For many Zimbabweans, the festive season is a time of giving — and Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has truly lived up to that spirit with its life-changing 2025 Christmas Promotion, which has left lucky winners across the country filled with joy, disbelief, and gratitude.

This week, Econet published the names of 16 lucky winners on its social media platforms, confirming that real people, from all walks of life, had won incredible prizes — including four cars and four smart homes — simply by participating in the promotion.

One such winner is Tapiwa Magaya from Harare, who walked away with a brand-new car.

“I’m very happy, at the same time still shocked that this happens to just random people,” he said, speaking with joy and disbelief.

“I never thought about it, but I’m very excited. I even saw posts on Facebook and got calls from people — I’m very joyful. I’m now buying a keyholder for my car.”

Magaya also encouraged others to use Econet in everything they do.

“Whether it’s network or gadgets, Econet should be your first choice. It shows real love to customers, and even with just $1, you could win something worth so much more. Econet is the way to go — even when you think of new technology, always check if Econet doesn’t already have it.”

For Loveness Zimwenje from Chitungwiza, who won a smart home, complete with a solar and smart security systems, the experience was surreal. Initially skeptical, she thought the phone call informing her of her win was a scam.

“At first, I thought it was a scam and even refused to talk to them,” she recalled. “But then I heard how serious the caller was and finally believed. I was so happy and proud.”

Another ecstatic winner, Michael Sibanda from Bulawayo, also drove away in a new vehicle. Like many others, his first reaction was disbelief.

“The first time they called, I was shocked — I thought it was a thief! But we are excited, and we’re so thankful to Econet,” he said.

“I want to encourage people to participate. I used to just see these promos and let them pass. But now I’m a true testimony.”

Meanwhile, Vimbai Chako could hardly believe her ears when she was told she had won a house.

“At first, I thought it was a scam too. But then I heard I was live on radio and Facebook, and that’s when I believed. I can’t believe I’m a landlord now! I’m very happy — I will be an Econet customer forever.”
