Dr Manyaya appointed new ZTA boss

The Board of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) has appointed Dr. George Munyaradzi Manyaya as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective February 1, 2026.

Dr. Manyaya, a seasoned strategist with deep expertise in marketing and corporate governance, assumes the role with a clear directive to reposition Zimbabwe as a premier global destination.
The ZTA Board expressed strong confidence in his ability to navigate the complex global tourism market. His mandate is comprehensive, focusing on making Zimbabwe a competitive destination, driving development, enforcing industry standards, coordinating stakeholders, and facilitating sustainable investment.

Dr. Manyaya joins the ZTA from ZESA Holdings, where he served as General Manager responsible for Marketing,communications and stakeholder relations.

He currently serves as the Chairman of the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA), where he is credited with leading successful rebranding, governance reforms, and modernization initiatives. His direct tourism credentials include serving as a Tourism Brand Ambassador and as a key member of the Organizing Committee for the 2013 UNWTO General Assembly, co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Dr. Manyaya holds a Doctorate in Business Management, a Master of Science in International Relations, and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance.
