CEO Africa Roundtable, American financier sign mega deals

CEO Africa Roundtable and American financier, Global Trade Finance, have signed two deals worth millions of dollars to finance several sectors in Zimbabwe, Business Times can report.

The CEO Africa Roundtable CEO,Kipson Gundani and board chairman, Oswell Binha, recently led a delegation of executives on a tour of the United States of America.

Gundani revealed yesterday that ZB Financial Holdings signed a US$100m funding agreement with Global Trade Finance.

The second funding agreement was signed by CEO Africa Roundtable and Global Trade Finance, worth millions of United States dollars.

“The tour was very successful. We signed two Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) of collaboration, particularly funding focusing on eight sectors.

One of the deals is that of ZB Financial Holdings which signed a US$100m funding with Global Trade and Finance.

CEO Africa Roundtable also signed another MoU with the same organisation,” Gundani said.

He added: “Some will establish joint ventures, while others will get loan finance.

“The targeted sectors are energy, manufacturing, housing, technology, tourism, financial institutions, health and mining, among many others.

Meanwhile, Gundani told Business Times that preparations for the CEO Africa Roundtable conference, to be held in Victoria Falls from November 2 to 5, 2022 were at an advanced stage.

He said Finance and Economic Development Minister, Mthuli Ncube will headline the CEO Africa Roundtable.

Other speakers will be Industry and Commerce Minister, Sekai Nzenza, Women Affairs, Community, Small to Medium Enterprises Minister, Stembiso Nyoni, Professor Patrick Lumimba from Kenya, and Harry Chima from Malawi, among others.

He said the CEO Africa Roundtable was still trying to reach out to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, with the view to make him the guest of honour.

Gundani said at least 200 delegates have so far registered to attend the annual conference.

However, Gundani said CEO Africa Roundtable was targeting about 300 delegates.

“The CEO Africa Roundtable is an annual platform for genuine CEO. It’s a platform to sell your business hinging on relationships.  We will have B2B rooms,” he said.

“Focus will be on bigger issues under the Big Debate platform. “We will debate or discuss issues that keep a CEO from sleeping at night. These include budget overruns, procurement issues and taxation, among other issues.

“There will also be talk on investing in real estate, which is very critical. We will also be talking about how geo-politics and the new world order will affect local companies.

“Another critical topic will be agriculture and climate change. It’s a subject we will discuss in detail.

We will also try to advise CEOs to invest wisely.”
