The measure is contained in the newly received Constitutional Amendment Bill of 2026, which was endorsed during a Cabinet meeting Tuesday.

Announcing the decision at a post-Cabinet media briefing, the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Dr Jenfan Muswere, said the change is intended to ensure policy continuity and allow for the completion of major national projects.
