Zimbabwe’s leading business and financial publication, Business Times, won gold  in the Megafest Leaderships held last week, underlying its status as a newspaper of choice, three years after hitting the streets.

The paper, which was established in 2018, came second in the Leader in the print media industry of the year 2021 category behind the 130-year old The Herald which took the platinum gong.

The Editor of the Business Times, Ndamu Sandu, said the award emboldens the team to do more in line with the paper’s pay off line, Redefining Business.

“We have ticked all the boxes in what we promised to offer our readers when we launched in 2018. This award is not only for the Business Times team but for our advertisers and readers who have stood with us since 2018. We promise to do more and make the paper a market place of ideas with concise commentaries and analyses,” Sandu said.

Business Times sister units—ZIFM Stereo and 98.4 FM Midlands—were also winners.  ZiFM Stereo came second in the leader in the radio industry of the year category tied with Radio Zimbabwe. 98.4 FM Midlands won silver in the category.

98.4 Midlands station manager Chengetai Murimwa said: “This clearly demonstrates that we are the leaders in providing news and entertainment in the Midlands region. We will continue to provide up to date news and top class entertainment to our listeners.”.
