Business Times announces #LoveHarare campaign

HARARE – Business Times will be launching a #LoveHarare campaign which will showcase and maintain some of the city landscapes as part of its social responsibility plan.

Most of the work will be showcased through scenic imagery of the city which will projected through a newspaper, which will be launched soon, through the website and ultimately through a photo exhibition.

The campaign has been informed by the need to prop up Brand Harare.  This is informed by the current set-up where there has been little brand usage and the city has lacked a positive identity.

“Harare is such a beautiful city, but over the years, it has experienced trauma and neglect, and people no longer care as much as they used to about landmarks of historical significance. I am a huge lover of history and I’m excited at the opportunity to take a leading role in restoring the sunshine status of the city of Harare.” said Business Times Editor, Happiness Zengeni.

The campaign will include clean-ups, educational tours and restorations.

Although the campaign is beginning in Harare, it will spread to other major cities and towns across the country.

Zengeni encouraged people to join the campaign and spread awareness of the importance of loving one’s city.

Zengeni is also calling upon photographers, amateur or professional, who would be interested in showcasing their photography of the city to co-ordinate with multi-award winning Business Times photojournalist, Tafadzwa Ufumeli through his Twitter handle @tafadzwaufumeli and include the hashtag #LoveHarare.
