Boost for women entrepreneurs

Women Excel, a local organisation that seeks to empower women, has committed to provide capital to female entrepreneurs, Business Times can report.
Women Excel CEO, Edna Mukarazhizha, said the support would help reduce poverty in the country.
We need to empower women in our country by providing capital for any business to break from mediocrity to greatness,” Mukurazhizha said at the ZiFM/Business Times International Women’s Day breakfast meeting held in the capital on Tuesday.
“We have taken a step further as an organisation to encourage women to have multiple streams of income.”
She said the Covid-19 pandemic has “taught us that there is need for women to rely on multiple streams of income rather than depending on the salary”.
“One salary will never be enough. If you rely on salary, you are one step away from poverty,” Mukurazhizha said.
She said Women Excel would offer entrepreneurs training for the women.
“Women need to be independent so that they can have healthy life style that is determined by the income.
“Money follows passion and we can help to have a life that you will be able to pay bills.” Mukurazhizha said.
“It is very important for women to be very independent and develop their career.”
