BCC mulls setting up travel centre in CBD

The Bulawayo City Council (BCC) is planning to construct a travel centre in the city’s central business district (CBD), Business Times can report.
The development was revealed by BCC director of town planning, Wisdom Siziba.
It comes at a time bus crews have illegally set up picking points in the city centre.
“An area was set aside for a travel centre along 15th Avenue, not far away from the National Railways of Zimbabwe,” Siziba said.
He added: ““We are working on that so that at least we try to make sure that the city is clean.”
The illegal parking of buses has attracted touts, vendors and pushcart operators. This has resulted in noise pollution and littering around in the area.
Siziba said buses should have timetables for picking and dropping off passengers.
