ACCOLADES and recognition for excellence continue to flow for WestProp Holdings chief executive Ken Sharpe who at the weekend received the Special Recognition Award for Outstanding Business Leadership at the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards in London, the United Kingdom.

A week earlier Sharpe had bagged the 2022 top businessman of the year at the Megafest Business Leadership Awards in Harare where he walked home with a floating trophy, certificate and a glass plaque.

The awards come barely days before WestProp Holdings lists on the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (29 April, 2023). The property development company will become  the first real estate company to list on the VFEX.

In his acceptance speech in London Sharpe said it was about hope and securing a better future for the people of Zimbabwe. He emphasized the importance of the nexus between business, government and civil society in building a better Zimbabwe.

WestProp Holdings has a vision of laying one billion bricks by 2050 at its development projects.

“We are committed to 2050 for the next 27 years. We have to reset our minds to see the glass not half empty but half full and overflowing,” he said.

The history making entity has a rallying mantra of bringing ‘Dubai to Zimbabwe’ through the construction of luxury live, work, shop and play mixed use communities that are synonymous with the developed world.

In his citation, ZAA founder Conrad Mwanza said: “The award is in recognition of your inspirational business leadership and philanthropy in the course of your career.”
