The Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) will host its annual Women Enterprise Conference and Awards (WECA) at the end of this month.
ZNCC public relations manager, Melody Kaingidza told Business Times that Industry and Commerce minister Sekai Nzenza will be the guest of honour at the conference.
Other speakers include deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Jesimen Chipika, Clara Mlambo, the chairperson of ZimTrade, Nedbank Zimbabwe MD Sibongile Moyo, Old Mutual Investment Group MD Marjorie Mayida and Mandas Marikanda, the CEO of Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinace Bank.
She said the event was open to all women in business and in the corporate world.
“Women who aspire to be business women, women who want to upscale their businesses and even males can attend,” Kaingidza said, adding that the event will be beneficial to women who wish to grow and gain insights into how to better run their businesses from other women already in the field.
“The reason behind WECA is to help women grow their businesses, to help women have solutions on how they can be able to run their businesses,” she said.
“Be it issues to do with financial literacy or surviving in the difficult times that we are going through in terms of the hyper inflationary environment.
“It also helps to have conversations with the next generation of women leaders to find what it is that we have in store in terms of digitisation and developments that are taking place in the dynamic business world.
“So, the whole motive of having these various discussions with women is to help women strengthen their businesses and to those that are not in businesses it will also give them a stepping stone in terms of starting their own businesses.”
