Bulawayo’s premier food festival, Munch and Sip, will be held at Criterion Parks, in Burnside today.
More than five top chefs from across Matabeleland Region are expected to display their signature dishes at pop up restaurants that will be dotted across the venue.
Distillers will also be available to provide some alcoholic beverages.
Talented music star Anita Jackson and The Travellers Band are expected to entertain revellers. Also, Bulawayo based DJs will take turns to entertain music lovers at the event, which has attracted corporate sponsors including the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management and Greens Supermarket.
“We have learnt from the past events and as we grow we have found a place with more parking and not as out of town like before,” the organiser of the event Mandipa Masuku said.
She added: “Over the years the event has grown to become the huge event it is now and we are excited that it’s managing to connect food and music lovers.”
Masuku said they will also be providing shuttle services for those who might not want to drive to the venue.
The last Much and Sip food festival, which was held in August at the Sailing Club near Matopo Hills attracted a record breaking crowd of more than 3 000 food enthusiasts.
