As Zimbabwe navigates a rapidly evolving global economy, the need for sustainable growth, enhanced productivity and improved competitiveness is more urgent than ever.
The National Competitiveness Commission (NCC)’s inaugural Competitiveness Summit, set for February 19–20 at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) grounds in Bulawayo, will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, global experts, and investors to explore strategies for boosting productivity and sustainable growth.
Under the theme “Building Sustainability Towards Enhanced Productivity and Competitiveness in Zimbabwe,” the summit aims to address the country’s economic challenges and unlock new opportunities in an increasingly competitive global market.
The summit will feature President Emmerson Mnangagwa as Guest of Honor, alongside senior government officials and business leaders.
International experts, including Professor Amit Kapoor, Honorary Chairman of the Institute for Competitiveness, India, will share insights on global best practices, investment strategies, and innovation-driven growth.
As Zimbabwe implements key economic reforms to stabilize markets, boost industrial output, and improve living standards, the summit offers a timely platform to discuss policy direction, trade opportunities, and investment frameworks.
The global economy is shifting from traditional comparative advantage to sustainable competitive advantage, making it more important than ever for Zimbabwe to adapt, innovate, and strengthen its position in regional and global trade. With the rise of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), businesses must align with modern trade dynamics, sustainable business models, and technological advancements.
A core focus of the summit will be practical solutions in sustainability, covering areas such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, industrial modernization, and digital transformation. These discussions will be instrumental in driving Zimbabwe towards its goal of becoming an upper middle-income economy by 2030.
Attendees will gain valuable knowledge from global and local experts on sustainability, productivity, and competitiveness, build high-level connections with policymakers, business leaders, and investors, enhance visibility for their organizations, and contribute to shaping policies that will define Zimbabwe’s economic future.
The summit offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, forge strategic partnerships, and position businesses for success in an evolving global landscape.
